Being Real: My Class Website is Ready!

Over the summer, I saw so many people creating class websites through Google Sites. I wanted to create one but couldn’t figure out how it would be best for me to use it.

As I began planning for my school year, I decided on some end of unit social studies projects. I became a bit discouraged realizing that I wouldn’t e able to showcase these projects the way I normally would (covid classroom restrictions).

THEN– I REALIZED HOW I CAN USE A CLASS WEBSITE! I created the websites so that I can share the students bulletin board work for each subject! I also wanted the website to be a resource hub for my students and families on their remote learning days. Students will be able to access anchor charts we use in the classroom and a word wall. From my experiences in the spring. I decided to create an early finishers page. Students who have completed their assignments for the day can work on enrichment activities or passion projects at their leisure.

I wanted families to be able to access the survey that I emailed them in case they need to make any changes. I also provided families with the resource of reading comprehension questions. I am always asking families to read with their scholars and ask questions. With this page, they will have a concrete place to pull questions from.

My school has a community circle every week. At this time, a scholar is chosen to be scholar of the week for exhibiting our core values. Community circle will be different this year but I wanted there to be a place where the scholar can still feel celebrated!
